These are the Moments Memories are Made Of....

Life is full of memories. Some make us laugh, some make us cry and others and just plain fun to remember. Blake and I have chosen a parenting motto of "laugh over cry" but some days that isn't very easy. Thankfully God made children beautiful and sweet and just when we think we are at the "end of our parenting rope" God gives us a moment that melts our hearts and reminds us to be more like Him...abundant with grace. Here are some of our top ten memories in the last few months....

#10 - Singing, Dancing and Playing Guitar

We do a lot of singing, dancing, and instrument playing at our house. There isn't a day that goes by that music isn't a part of our lives. Blake and I are often graced with free concerts from the boys. These moments make us laugh - sometimes until we cry! They have quite the moves!! I'm sure they will appreciate watching these videos when they are 20!

#9 School Pictures
My Mother's Day present from the boys and daddy was framed photo of the boys' school pictures (which I hadn't yet seen). This isn't a great shot since it's a photo of a photo but this is the school picture of the boys together. Gotta love our "pirate" Thomas and his sidekick David!

#8 King of the World
Thomas has taken a liking to climbing on Blake. He likes to get up as tall as he can (and has no fear of heights). Blake taught him the Titanic movie move and saying "I'm the King of the World." You can now find the boys doing this all the time and anywhere from tubing behind the boat to standing on daddy.

#7 Snuggling
We do a lot of snuggling at our house. It's one of my favorite times. I cherish the moments when all three kids want to snuggle with us but also love the moments when they choose to snuggle when we aren't looking.

We even snuggle at dinner time!

All our sweet babes.

#6 Thomas Waking up Jennifer
Thomas is very in tune with where Jennifer is and if he hears her crying in the monitor he insists on going up to check on her. He can often be found carrying around Jennifer's baby monitor while she is napping. He's a good big brother. He loves to "get her" when she wakes up and can often be found talking to her in her crib - the only issue is that he climbs right in to talk to her! Thankfully he is careful with his baby sister. I love standing behind the door and listening to him talk and sing to her.

#5 Stair time
David loves to be the first to wake up and then wake up Thomas...who isn't so pleasant most mornings. The same is true for naptime. However, when the tables are turned David doesn't like it so much and lays at the top of the stairs calling for us and wants us to snuggle him!

#4 Thomas feeding Jennifer
As Jennifer was learning to eat Cheerios Thomas wanted to help feed her. The even showed her "how to" eat them and "shared" with her. He has such a soft heart towards Jennifer. The only thing we have to be careful of is how fast and furious he feeds them to her. She can end up with a full mouth if we aren't carefully watching him feed her.

#3 Singing Little Einsteins
The boys love the TV show "Little Einsteins" and find the theme song very catchy. They started singing along but hadn't learned all the words so would make up lines in the song. Now that they know the words (thanks to mommy looking them up on the internet) they sing loudly each time they hear it and love to sing it to Jennifer (who always produces a big smile and bounces as they sing the catchy tune).

 #2 The GREEN Light
Yes, the green light is a magical clock that we purchased in the last few weeks. Could be the best $50 I've spent in a long time. They boys were getting up earlier and earlier and wanting to come downstairs and play. So after a lot of research I found a clock that can be set to turn green at a certain time that signifies they can get out of their room. We can hear the boys talking in their room but they have become fairly good at waiting until the green light comes on to come downstairs. But beware when the green light comes on...it's a full on party! They boys scream, jump up and down and announce (loud enough for the entire neighborhood to hear) that "THE GREEN LIGHT IS ON!" They then call for us and we have to look at it before they will come downstairs. It's the best invention and hysterically funny to listen to the "party" that ensues once the light turns green. Who would have thought that $50 could buy us so much happiness!

#1 - "The Throw Up"
David and Thomas now let themselves out of their bedroom and come downstairs on their own. The other morning brought an interesting surprise to two very tired parents. I had had a touch of the flu the day before and just before bed Jennifer had woken up and was throwing up...so after a short night we heard the busters making their way down the stairs around 6am. We could hear them talking but weren't closely listening.

When I opened the door Thomas proudly announced..."We cleaned it up mom!"
Mom: "What did you boys clean up?"
Thomas: "David's food."
Mom: "David, did you throw up?"
David: "Yes, I throwed up but we used my books to clean it up!"
And yes, they had done just that. David had gotten sick in his bed and they used their books to "clean it up" and put the books on the floor for me to get. So, not only did I have a bed to clean up but the outside of a few hardcover books and the carpet. Thanks Busters!
